Selecting a custom mechanical biped solution you get a design that is taylored to fit your specifications. The customer is included in every step of the design, from specification of the system to the delivery.

When custombiped designs mechanical solution for your biped robot, we emphasize human proportions as far into the design as possible. This is done as we belive that a robot design with human proportions, enhances the posibility for the robot to resemble human behaviour. You select the height or width of the robot, and we come up with specification for all other parts. As the size of the segments of the human body is closely connected, it is possible to calculate the size of other limbs given only little specification, like height of the actual robot. In our design this is done using the golden ratio.
The mechanical design is further done using specifications on peripheral equipment, such as motors, gears, on-board computers and sensoring. This is done so that the mechanical design can be fittet into your existing equipment.
The image below shows some shafts used in a robot build. The shafts were used to transfer torque from servo motors located in the torso of a biped robot, to the legs and thereby eneabled the robot to turn the legs. A high precision was needed as they were later fittet into some ball bearings.

Below is another image of the early design phase of an arm. It is seen that the servo motors used in the current project is incorporated into the design, which aids to the later assembly.

The two images below shows a leg of a biped robot. On the left is the leg in the design phase and on the right is the manufactured leg, ready to assembly.

Below is the images of a finished robot. On the left side is an exploded view of the actual design and on the right is the finished design. What should be noticed is that in the design all elements, from on-board computer to sensors, is included. This enables us to detect design flaws before the robot is manufactured.
